Biocontrol Honeydew™ is a special nutritional yeast protein (saccharomyces yeast fermented on whey) The main insect attractants it contains are sugar, and the amino acid tryptophan. This high protein diet effectively substitutes for nutrients found in natural honeydew, nectar, and pollen. It is the best of the many beneficial insect foods tested (including Wheast), and stimulates egg production in ladybugs, lace wigs, and other beneficial insects. Many insects seek out, and feed on some combination of honeydew, nectar, and pollen. Honeydew is produced by such insects as aphids, scales, mealy bugs, and whiteflies. The sticky substance which is often found dripping from trees and other plants contains many nutrients, is high in sugar, and very important to the insect community. Biocontrol Honeydew™ simulates a mixture of honeydew, nectar, and pollen. It attracts many beneficial insects that seek out these foods. The nourishment it provides helps to stimulate egg production. Biocontrol Honeydew™ helps to create an abundance of natural predators such as ladybugs that will help control plant pest infestations. INSTRUCTIONS Biocontrol Honeydew™ comes as a dry powder mix. Mix with approximately one gallon of warm water. Insects will be attracted and eat it even after the mixture has dried. It can also be sprinkled in its dry form over wet vegetation. It is not necessary to cover an entire garden area. A single band about 1 yard wide may be sufficient. Preferably in dense vegetation on the upwind side. |
